Sweden crowned Women’s European Champion, Reemet made the cut
The European Women’s Individual Golf Championship in Finland ended yesterday. Louise Rydqvist of Sweden won the event at Messilä Golf with a score of -14 (73, 66, 67, 68). Andrea Revuelta (Spain) won the silver medal and Meja Örtengren (Sweden) the bronze. Results
There were three Estonians on the start. The only one to make the cut was Elizaveta Sofia Reemet (Estonian Golf & Country Club) with rounds of 74, 77, 75. This gave a shared 90th place. This made Reemet the first Estonian female player to make the cut and finish in first place. It is true that while in the past there was only one cut after the third day at the individual European Championships, now the cut is made twice, after the second round and the third. Clubmate Anete Liis Adul started well (75), but her 81 on the second day ruined her chances of making the cut. Triin Marleen Ustal (Rae Golfiklubi) had rounds of 78, 85. It was the first time that so many Estonians made it to the starting list thanks to WAGR places. Only once before have there been more Estonians on the start, but this time we had more places thanks to the home organisation.
