Estonians snatch five first places at Senior Open
At Senior Open by Büroomaailm that was held on the weekend at Saare Golf, five out of seven first places stayed in Estonia. Only the 50+ and 60+ senior men’s winner cups travelled outside of Estonia thanks to great results by foreign players. 124 players from six different countries started the competition.
In the men’s 50+ class, Thomas Burley (Burnham & Berrow Golf Club) won the first place with the score +1 (77, 68). Jan Larsson (Estonian Golf & Country Club) lost by eight strokes and Kaupo Pastak (Saaremaa Golf & Country Club) by nine. Results
Therefore, the gold medal of the Estonian Championships belonged to Kaupo Pastak. The silver medal went to Raido Raamat (Estonian Golf & Country Club) and the bronze medal to Benno Maaring (Tartu Golf Club) with the same score. Results
In the women’s 50+ class, Jana Raudvere from Rae Golf Club defeated her fellow club member Viivika Nõmberg after a three-hole play-off and proved to be the best player. Eva Peedimaa (Tartu Golf Club) achieved the third place. The afore-mentioned three also made up the top three of the Estonian Championships. Results
The best result in the men’s 60+ class belonged to David Pursley (Ozo Golf Club) who finished with +7 (79, 72). The second place and, with that, also the gold medal of the Estonian Championships belonged to Toomas Tamme (Tartu Golf Club). The third place and, along with that, the silver medal of the Estonian Championships went to Mait Schmidt (Estonian Golf & Country Club). The bronze medal of the Estonian Championships, however, belonged to Tarmo Villemi (Estonian Golf & Country Club). Results
In the senior ladies’ 60+ class, Ulvi Ingver (Niitvälja Golf Club) was crowned winner. Monica Pihlak (Estonian Golf & Country Club) lost only by one stroke. The third place belonged to Pille Teearu (Niitvälja Golf Club). These three ladies also made up the top three of the Estonian Championships. Results
In the senior men’s 65+ competition class, Raivo Velsberg (Reval Golf Club) didn’t give anyone else a chance. The second place belonged to Toomas Kull and the third place to Vello Kahro (both from the Estonian Golf & Country Club). The aforementioned three also made up the top three of the Estonian Championships. Results
In the senior ladies’ 65+ age class, the overall win and the gold medal of the Estonian Championships belonged to Sirje Eichelmann (Rae Golf Club). The second place and the silver medal of the Estonian Championships went to Anne Petter (Niitvälja Golf Club) with nine more strokes. Arja Nordström (Master Golf Club) achieved the third place. The bronze medal of the Estonian Championships, however, belongs to Küllike Varik (Niitvälja Golf Club). Results
In the oldest age class for men (70+), the first place went to Rein Viru (Niitvälja Golf Club) who was better than Arvo Närep (Estonian Golf & Country Club) by one stroke. Maido Pajo didn’t manage to defend his title and had to accept the third place. These three men also made up the top three of the Estonian Championships. Results
